Goldman Sachs Former CEO Releases Statements on Bitcoin.
Lloyd Blankfein, former CEO of US-based multinational investment bank Goldman Sachs, made a number of statements regarding Bitcoin. Lloyd Blankfein, a guest on CNBC’s Squawk Box program, noted that Bitcoin could be useful.
Lloyd Blankfein , who thinks that Bitcoin can work , is still very skeptical about Bitcoin’s future. Because, according to Lloyd Blankfein , upcoming legal regulations could damage Bitcoin. Lloyd Blankfein recorded on the Squawk Box program:
If I were a financial regulator, I would be stressed by Bitcoin’s rise. I would arm myself to deal with this.
Bitcoin is Neither a Value Custodian nor an Exchange Tool
66-year-old billionaire Lloyd Blankfein does not see Bitcoin as a store of value. Supporting Ray Dalio ‘s narrative, Lloyd Blankfein stated that he does not see Bitcoin as a medium of exchange due to its problems with storage and volatility.
On the other hand, Lloyd Blankfein believes that if financial regulators take control of Bitcoin, it will go against the purpose of BTC’s existence.
Referring to an interview he gave to Bloomberg when he was CEO of Goldman Sachs in 2017, Blankfein stated that he was not comfortable with Bitcoin at that time , but was still open to the idea. Lloyd Blankfein also warned critics of Bitcoin not to be arrogant.
In addition to all these, Goldman Sachs, one of the largest banks in the USA , is expected to start offering cryptocurrency storage services in a very short time .
