Blockchain Collaboration for Corona Virus Data from World Health Organization and IBM

Blockchain Collaboration for Corona Virus Data from World Health Organization and IBM.

Big names like IBM , Oracle, and the World Health Organization (WHO) are among those who will use blockchain technology to check the accuracy of data related to the coronavirus pandemic. The company that created the platform, CEO of Hacera, Jonathan Levi, launched the solution called MiPasa as “COVID-19 information pathway”.

MiPasa, built on Hyperledger Fabric, is expected to evolve when a series of data analyzes are added and then precisely detect areas where COVID-19 infection is intense. Levi said:

“WE THINK THAT HE DOES NOT KNOW ENOUGH TO MAKE GOOD DECISIONS. IN THIS CASE, HOW CAN WE HELP THOSE WHO WANT TO ACCESS AND ANALYZE THE DATA? ”

Setting up this technology normally takes months, but in this case Big Blue listed a lot of data.

Many institutions joined the platform

Other institutions participating in the platform include: Microsoft, Johns Hopkins University, China’s National Health Commission and more. IBM Blockchain CTO, Gari Singh, said that everyone he spoke with agreed to “start a consortium” as soon as possible.

“We started brainstorming how to collect, provide, and use verified information about the virus,” said Singh. We are not trying to drag the blockchain into this solution, but we thought we should replicate the data, we need reliable resources. We must make sure that it cannot be tampered with. ”

IBM also introduces the Code Call initiative for programming on the platform to create tools that can help overcome the crisis. In the coming weeks, Singh said new things like corona virus test data could be added to the platform.

“YOU CAN THINK OF A SIMPLE APPLICATION FOR DIRECT TESTING. USING AN IPAD, YOU CAN ENTER SOME INFORMATION WITHOUT KNOWING WHO THE PERSON IS. WE CAN START COLLECTING THIS AND DEVELOPING NEW APPLICATIONS. ”

Levi said that analytics tools can provide powerful information, provided they are sure that all data on the platform (all of which is open and free to use) are accurate and consistent. Many companies reported offering data to help prevent virus:

“MANY DATA PROVIDERS ARE INVOLVED IN THIS. EVERYONE IS IN A HURRY TO HELP AND NO ONE WANTS A PENNY. ”
